• CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF IN BRIEF ?

My Name is Damipe Adekoya
I was born into the family of Revd and pastor Mrs Yinka and Doyin Olorunkoya here in lagos on the 26th of December that year “laughing”. Had my primary and secondary education in Lagos and my University education at Obafemi Awolowo University ILE-IFE osun state, where I got a degree in Dramatic Arts in the year 2012. In the year 2018 I got a short course certification in scriptwriting from the Pan-atlantic University in afiliation with Afrinolly .
I am happily married with child..

• TELL US SHORTLY HOW YOU START YOUR PROFESSION As An Actress ?

First of all, I have always loved the world of entertainment so growing up I tried my hands on music and drama, I grew up In a church and a pastor’s daughter or child is expected blameless those days. I was in the choir and drama group so I fell in love with acting so I decided to study theatre Arts… Of course my parents objected at first but with time they gave consent. When I was in oau i met a film maker who came to the campus to film a new movie titled SKILASHI his name is Biodun Aleja some of the actors where Jude orhorha,Gabriel Afolayan. Amongst others, I got featured in the movie that was how I officially started my acting dream, this happened in 2009. After school I met with Mr Bolaji Basia who was my cousin’s costumer at the time, so she introduced us since he knew a lot of entertainers, he then Introduced me to my big brother Muyideen Samsiliu who is a movie director, that was how I started following him to location whenever there was a job to do, that was how it all began…

• WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES SO FAR ?

Hmm Challenges for me are like hurdles to the next face of life, at first it was with combining taking care of my family especially my daughter with the job, most times I would have to travel from Lagos to other parts of the country. No director or producer wants an actor that will pull them back with family matters because it is a job and you are not supposed to be giving excuses when doing your job, but I’m glad that I figured it out at last..

• TELL US BRIEFLY ON YOUR OWN OPINION ON THE VIRUS OUTBREAK ( Covid-19 ) – And How you Have Been Coping ?

On the case of the Corona virus, I know that it will pass and I have been very careful and isolating with my nuclear family but I wish everybody would have been able to do the same so that we can contain it but at the same time Nigerians fend for themselves by themselves. most people need to eat through wages or daily income, which has made it mostly impossible for people to adhere to the presidential command. But I would like to say, let’s distance ourselves socially and teach each other health and safety. This shall pass…

• WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS THIS YEAR/WHAT SHOULD YOUR FANS EXPECT THIS YEAR..?

Oh! that is so exciting. Just has you know, I have two self produced movies already *ITURA IFE* and *STATE OF NOTIONS.* This year God willing, I am hoping to produce two feature films and a tv series, which will be scripted by Me…
