Do Women Really Control Nigeria’s Entertainment Industry? This is What Bovi Have to Say

IS THIS TRUE?? Women Control Entertainment Industry In Nigeria

Nigerian stand-up comedian Bovi Ugboma recently shared his thoughts on the dominance of women in the entertainment industry during an appearance on TVC’s Your View. Ugboma argued that while women often advocate for equality, they may not realize they have already achieved significant success in the industry.

He emphasized, “Women need to understand that in areas where they are fighting for equality, sometimes, they may have conquered but don’t realize they’ve won.”

Bovi highlighted several leading women in the entertainment space, including Funke Akindele and Mo Abudu, who hold top spots in box office hits, and notable producers and directors like Bolanle Austin-Peters, Jade Osiberu, and Kemi Adetiba. He pointed out that women have been at the forefront of the entertainment industry for years, saying, “So what are we talking about? Women are running the industry.”

He also addressed the issue of exploitation in the industry, urging young women to seek support from other women in power, noting, “You [women] own the industry.”
